Hi, I’m Bec Young, and I’m honoured to serve the vibrant community of Redlands!
As your State Member for Redlands and Queensland's Assistant Minister to the Deputy Premier for State Development, Housing, and Better Government Regulation, I am deeply committed to serving our community and driving meaningful change.
Victoria Point has been my home my entire life. My husband, Justin, and I are proud to raise our children here, surrounded by the natural beauty and strong community spirit that make Redlands so special. Living and running small businesses in this region for over a decade has given me a deep understanding of the challenges we face and the opportunities we can seize together.
My passion for public service is rooted in my commitment to advocating for local families, businesses, and individuals. I’m dedicated to ensuring that Redlands has a strong voice in shaping the future of Queensland—a future where everyone can thrive.
In my role as Assistant Minister, I am focused on driving economic growth to create jobs and opportunities, delivering innovative housing solutions to address pressing needs, and ensuring that government regulation empowers people and businesses rather than creating unnecessary barriers. These priorities align with the LNP’s right plans for Queensland: restoring safety where you live, reinstating health services when you need them, respecting your hard-earned money, reimagining housing opportunities, and redesigning a government that works for you.
Locally, my election commitments reflect the voices and needs of our community—needs I heard loud and clear during my campaign. These aren’t just promises; they are actionable plans to build a Redlands we can all be proud to call home. From investing in infrastructure and improving transport to enhancing community safety and protecting our natural environment, these initiatives are designed to create a brighter, more sustainable, and inclusive future for us all.
