2026 Community Sponsorship & Support Program

Backing the Clubs and Community Groups that Power Redlands

Community organisations and sporting clubs are the heart of the Redlands. Each year, my office receives many requests for support — from raffle donations through to larger sponsorships.

To make sure support is provided fairly, transparently, and with the greatest community benefit, the Redlands Electorate Office runs an annual Community Sponsorship & Support Program.

This page explains how the program works, what support is available, and how to apply.

What we can support

“Supporting those who support our community”

We consider requests from not-for-profit, community, sporting, school and volunteer organisations that deliver clear benefit to people living in the Redlands electorate, including the Southern Moreton Bay Islands.

Support is provided in four categories:

Tier 1 — Major Sponsorships

Tier 2 — Community Partnerships

Tier 2 — Community Partnerships

Major sponsorships are designed for high-impact partnerships that deliver strong community outcomes

  • Up to $2,500 per sponsorship

  • Assessed through EOI process every 6 months

  • Best suited to large clubs, major community events, or programs with broad reach

Expected visibility and outcomes may include:

  • Prominent logo placement (signage, programs or digital assets)

  • Acknowledgement as a major sponsor or partner

  • Social media recognition before and after the event/program

  • Opportunities for the local Member to attend, speak or be involved

  • Use of photos and content for community communications

  • Limited to eight per year

Tier 2 — Community Partnerships

Tier 2 — Community Partnerships

Tier 2 — Community Partnerships

For medium-sized requests designed for initiatives with a clear local impact and modest funding needs

  • Up to $500 per sponsorship

  • Rolling applications assessed monthly

  • Suitable for local clubs, schools, P&Cs and community groups delivering local programs/events

Expected visibility and outcomes may include:

  • Acknowledgement of support in event materials, newsletters or communications

  • A thank-you or acknowledgement on social media or the organisation’s website

  • Tagging or mentioning the local Member in relevant social posts (where applicable)
  • An invitation to attend the event or activity (where appropriate)

  • Use of photos and content for community communications

  • Limited to 12 per year

Tier 3 — Micro Support

Special Circumstances Reserve

Special Circumstances Reserve

For smaller requests such as raffles, prizes and small community requests

  • Primarily in-kind support

  • Requests are capped by availability

  • Intended to help as many community groups as possible across the year

Special Circumstances Reserve

A small portion of support is held for unexpected circumstances

for example: community hardship, urgent local needs, or emerging opportunities that strongly benefit Redlands residents

How decisions are made

To ensure fairness and consistency, requests are assessed using the following criteria:

  • Community benefit: who benefits and how many people will be reached

  • Local impact: how the activity supports Redlands residents

  • Equity: ensuring support is shared across the electorate (including SMBI and mainland)

  • Value for money: clear purpose, budget, and how support will be used

  • Visibility and engagement: opportunities to acknowledge support and keep the community informed

  • Timing and planning: requests made with reasonable notice are easier to support

Please note: submitting an application does not guarantee support, and funding/support is limited. Round 1, will close February 28 2026, successful applicants will be notified by March 8 2026.
